MY STORY

INSPIRED BY NATURE, UPLIFTED IN ELEGANCE

ABOUT ME

My goal is to create jewelry to evokes joy.

Intentionally handcrafted in Sedona, Arizona, these one-of-a-kind and small batch designs are made with high quality gemstones and components that are often available only in small quantities, so there are just a few of your favorite adornments ever made.

The pieces are imbued with my clear intention of harmony, health and abundance and they are grounded in the beautiful and ancient energy of Sedona.

HISTORY

When I was four years old, I told my parents that I would be an artist. I found such joy in making. My high school boyfriend’s mom, Laurel Burch, once a well-known jewelry designer in San Francisco, took me under her wing. As my mentor, she showed me that as an artist, anything is possible. With her I learned about Joseph Campbell’s idea of, ‘following your bliss.’

While studying Industrial Design at the California College of Arts and Crafts, I worked for jewelry designers. While I was not clear of my path as an artist/ designer at the time, I was not planning on jewelry, yet I kept finding my way back to it. After graduating, I created a small jewelry line with help of my sister, Adria. Together, our lines of jewelry were very well received in beautiful boutiques from San Francisco to Vancouver.

Shortly, I connected with an amazing sales rep. With her knowledge and a $2000 dollar loan, I grew my business to include working with Sundance Catalogue, Anthropologie, Barneys, BCBG, Fred Segal and accounts across the country as well as in Japan!

One of my highlights was creating a seasonal artist market that was held in the historic Panama Hotel in the International District of Seattle, Washington. These were magical moments, supporting other artists and makers.

Upon meeting my husband, moving to Mexico and starting our family, I paused the business with the hope of starting again. And now that our kids are older, I have done just that! Thank you to all, who have had various roles in supporting me and my business over the years.

INSPIRATION

Having grown up in Alaska, with extreme and subtle contrasts in the terrain and light, I use delicate, watery qualities as well as earthy moods in my work.

Color is a passion of mine. I believe there is healing energy in color, whether wearing it or gazing at a pink desert sunset in Sedona. When I lived in Mexico, I was in heaven with the intrinsic use of color in the culture. And now in living in Sedona, Arizona, I am inspired by the richness provided by this landscape. Nature provides such an expressive range of colorful gemstones. It was inevitable that I would fall in love with them.

A quality that sets my work apart is that my pieces are intentionally designed to be light and to move with the body in a way that feels poetic and feminine. I like to highlight and celebrate the sweetness of the female form with light catching sparkle and gemstones.

I want the jewelry to be an amplifier of the unique inner glow of the women who wear it.

HAND CRAFTED IN SEDONA

Sedona, like most places, is a place that one cannot really experience passing through. At first one sees the grandeur of the red rock formations, but once you settle here for a bit and slow down and walk quietly at dawn, you see tiny footprints of various insects left in the sand that once was ocean floor. Or when hiking down through juniper and mesquite, a maze of boulders, pools and sparkling rivulets opens under the breezy shadows, and you understand that fairies do exist. And the quail with babies trailing, the sad song of the lone dove or the flash of red of cardinal wings, the generations of bunnies, javelina, bobcats, coyote and mule deer who live and have lived in this valley- All of this inspires a deep honor to be here.

While living in gratitude for this natural beauty, I hand pick each stone and pearl for its high quality, uniqueness and balance. I choose only the best of everything and insist that every aspect of the jewelry making to the customer service is done with integrity.

Balance and harmony in design is something I take seriously. I have been honing this sense for years and always come to letting the materials speak to me and the concept that less is more.

ETHOS

Making human dignity and the ability for every human to thrive must be non-negotiable. Each step I take with the business I integrate more sustainable materials and work with more ethical sources. Here is a list of what I have incorporated thus far, and I am always open to learning new things, so let me know if you see ways that I can add to this.

I have added an impressive stone supplier that has fair work ethics for their employees and is preserving the craft of artisans who have been carving stones for generations.

Many of the 24k gold-plated and sterling silver charms are made with recycled silver and are sourced from an amazing company. I’ve met the owner personally and am very inspired by the care and ethical standards she holds for her employees. Her business has also donated many thousands to amazing charitable organizations internationally.
